Cozy up around the campfire

Get the fire crackling, grab all the s’more fixings from the Market and cozy up around the campfire with your sweetheart. Share your favorite memories while making new ones. Firepits are available at nearly all campsites and on the beach (first come, first served). Market Hours: Sunday-Thursday:  10 am – 6 pm / Friday & Saturday:  10 am – 7 pm

Go for a long bike ride

What better way to enjoy the outdoors than a long bike ride with your love! Rent beach cruisers from the Marina and spend the day in the sunshine riding around Mission Bay Loop. Make your way to the trail on the north end of the campground, near the front gate. The loop is a 12-mile path that winds around the interior of Mission Bay. It has plenty of scenic spots to enjoy the view or snap a selfie! It’s the perfect romantic camping idea this Valentine’s Day. Marina Hours: 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday to Sunday. Call 858-581-4224 for more info! **Valentine’s Weekend Special** Second Hour FREE on all non-motorized rentals at the marina.

Get out on the water

One of our go-to romantic camping ideas for adventurous couples is exploring Mission Bay and Kendall-Frost Marsh Preserve with your honey on rented kayaks, pedal boats, or stand-up paddleboards (SUPs are available at Adventure Water Sports located adjacent to the marina – kayaks and pedal boats available at the Marina store). Or pick up snacks and drinks and take a relaxing cruise on one of our pontoon boats. There’s plenty of wildlife to see while exploring the waters of the world’s largest aquatic park. Marina Hours: 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday to Sunday. Call 858-581-4224 for more info!

Beach Picnic

Grab a blanket and lunch at the Cantina and head to the beach for a romantic picnic by the sea. Prefer cooking? Cook your sweetheart’s favorite meal while camping and enjoy eating fireside. Cantina Kitchen Hours: Monday-Thursday:  10 am – 9 pm / Friday – Sunday:  9 am – 9 pm Bar Hours: Monday – Thursday:  10 am – 10 pm / Friday – Sunday:  9 am – 10 pm

Stargaze on the Sand

Nature has all you need. One of the simplest romantic camping ideas is to pack your camping chairs or a blanket and head to the sand for a dreamy date gazing at the stars. Look for constellations and shooting stars in the night sky. Check out this interactive sky map for what you can see in the sky!
