Beach and Camping in San Diego
The lovely, public beach at Campland is nestled along the shores of Mission Bay. In addition to bonfire rings and volleyball, the beach offers an enclosed swimming area and swim platform that the kids will love!
Due to COVID-19, please practice physical distancing on the beach and in the water. Masks should be worn to and from the beach.
Bring your beach chairs and umbrellas. There is plenty of sunshine and you may want to provide a little shade. With our idyllic San Diego weather, almost every day is a beach day at Campland. Fun beach activities include:
- Sandcastle Building Contests
- Bonfires at the fire rings
Campland's experienced recreation staff can supervise the kids in beach activities like sand castle building contests or volleyball while parents take time out to read a book, sunbathe, swim, and relax on what is considered one of Southern California's best beaches.
After you've read your book, had lunch, and gone for a swim, take a walk on the beach over to the Campland Marina. There, you can rent an electric bike or beach cruiser and explore more of the beautiful Mission Bay beach. Or rent an old-fashioned surrey, and give the entire family a ride!
Evenings on the beach are spent with friends and family around the fire, roasting s'mores, discussing the day's adventures. When you look across the Bay, you can see the fireworks from SeaWorld.
By day or night, Campland's beach is a special place where memories are made.
