San Diego, CA (May 2, 2024) – Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort have welcomed Jim Unger, a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, as the new General Manager for the two iconic San Diego coastal camping destinations.

In his new role, Jim Unger brings a wealth of experience and a dedication to hospitality that aligns perfectly with the ethos of these beloved San Diego brands. With a career spanning various facets of the hospitality industry, Unger has consistently demonstrated his commitment to providing outstanding service and fostering inclusivity. From his early days at Vacation Village Hotel (now Paradise Point), where he was awarded the Convention and Visitors Bureau “Perfect Host” award for his compassionate service, to his board involvement with “Accessible San Diego,” a movement aimed at enhancing accessibility in the hospitality sector, Unger has been a trailblazer in creating welcoming environments for all guests.

Prior to his appointment at Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort, Unger served as the General Manager of Hornblower Cruises & Events in San Diego. His leadership played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s fleet and implementing sustainable practices, earning accolades such as the Green Port Award.
